Asmaa Albukaie
Micro-Finance Outreach Coordinator
As the Microfinance Outreach Coordinator, Asmaa is EO’s first point of contact in the Twin Falls area. Asmaa loves meeting new people and is eager to provide guidance, support, and outreach to small entrepreneurial businesses and community members in need of emergency financial assistance.
Prior to joining EO, Asmaa worked as a case manager for the Agency of New Americans (ANA). Originally from Syria, Asmaa worked as a teacher assistant in Damascus University. In 2013 she worked at St. Andrew’s United Church of Cairo as a case manager. She holds a Master’s of Arts in Library Management, and is the first Syrian refugee to arrive in Boise in November 2014.
Asmaa values building relationships, community, and serving as a voice for the refugee community. She is an active member of the Refugee Speaker’s Bureau, and holds the distinct honor of being invited to speak at the White House, the U.S. State Department, and at the Madeleine Albright Institute at Wellesley College.
Asmaa enjoys exploring the outdoors, dancing, reading, and spending time with her family.
