According to USAID in 2010, Women make up only 18.9% of the world’s legislators. Yet, countries where women’s share of seats in political bodies is greater than 30% are more inclusive, egalitarian, and democratic. At Jannus EO we believe in removing barriers so that leaders like Elvine, an EO Starling Project mentee, can create change. Elvine is working toward her goal of working for the United Nations—and with 5 languages under her belt, a degree on the way, and a wicked intellect, there’s no stopping her. Elvine said that, if she could solve any problem in the world, it would be racism among the world’s people. We agree that working for the UN is a great place to make change!
